Our Design Process

Custom Jewelry

The heart of Menashe & Sons is custom jewelry. With leading master jewelers in the jewelry industry we create beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces that are of the finest quality. This is one of the reasons why Menashe’s  shines more than most retail jewelers in the community and beyond. We offer the ability to create any piece of jewelry you desire. If you do not see it, we will design it for you, and it will be a unique piece that only you have.

Jewelry, because of its special significance, needs to reflect the meaning you desire. The ability to craft pieces in shop, with you as an integral part, enable Menashe’s to always do so.

The Process

To fabricate a custom piece of jewelry, the first step is to design a two-dimensional rendition of the piece through a sketch. Our experienced staff will guide you through this first phase to do two things:

Inform you of the unique and varied possibilities of the many style of jewelry available.

Advise you on the details that will make your piece as beautiful and individual as the picture within your mind.

The second stage of the custom fabrication is to make the two-dimensional depiction into a three-dimensional wax model. We invite you to come and look at the model for your approval.

The third stage is to create the mold used to cast your piece of jewelry.

Your wax model, in the middle of the solidified investment compounds, is then heated to temperatures of 1200-1400 degrees Fahrenheit to completely remove all the wax and its residue. The mold is now complete.

The fourth stage is the casting. The metal(s) of your choice is heated and liquefied and then poured into the mold. The molten metal cools in the mold and solidifies, forming your piece of jewelry.

The fifth stage is the finishing and polishing. The entire surface of your piece of jewelry is cleaned and polished before and gemstones are set. Once the polishing is completed the gemstones are set, a final cleaning and polishing is performed.

The finest things are still made by hand... one at a time!
